We combined an amazing trek to Gokyo Lake and over the Chola Pass (5,330m) with Lobuje climb and the trek goes deep into the heart of the Himalaya. The mountain views are stunning and the simplicity, the hospitality, of the Sherpa community is heart warming. You will get to take in the awe-inspiring views of Mt. Everest, the tallest of them all, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku and peaks like Loboche, Kasum-Kangru, and Kwangde. You will also be visiting Sherpa villages and several buddhist monasteries to gain insight into their culture, traditions and also to see lifestyle from up close.
Journey
This challenging trek into the Solu-Khumbu region begins with a spectacular mountain flight to Lukla & continually trekking along the Dudh-Kosi ("Milky River"). After crossing the Namche Bazar ”The Sherpa headquarter” we will continue on to Gokyo Lake (4,790m) via Dole and Machhermo, with its natural beauty of Himalayas & better introduction of local Sherpa cultures. We will climb Gokyo-Ri (5,360m) which offers views of the whole valley, right up to Mt. Cho-Oyu and Mt. Makalu as well. The Cho-La Pass, approached from Dragnag below Gokyo is chance to walk on the glacier with relatively safe for a panoramic view of some of the world's highest mountains including Everest at 8,848m. Although the approaches either side are quite steep, the glacier itself is quite flat and almost crevasse free. It can usually be safety crossed without crampons and gives us access to the upper reaches of the Khumbu valley. Cho-La pass offer a real mountain experience. From Dzongla, we trek to Lobuche village and spent overnight at teahouse before going for climbing. Next day we climb to lower high camp (5,400m) and about 4am next day, we will start our summit push and reach on the summit before 10am and then descent to high camp for over-night stay. Now finally we trek back to Lukla and fly to KTM.
