According to the book ‘High Asia’, Jimmy Roberts did a reconnaissance of the Dhaulagiri massif in 1954. During the trip he and Ang Nyima climbed Putha Hinchuli 7246m. (alias Dhaulagiri VII) via its northeast face.
Climbing Route and High Camps
We establish our Base Camp at 4,940m. The base camp is beautiful situated on a flat meadow with a stream running through and farmed by high mountain. We plan to setup three high camps above base camp, camp I at 5,480m, Camp II at 6,150m and Camp III as the last camp at 6,350m. While our strong team of Sherpa staffs set up various high camps, members have the chance to going up and down for well acclimatization and we attempt summit on a favorable day for everyone. Due to our good strategy and expert logistics support, the success rate to this mountain is very high and we use the normal route (north face) to ascent this peak
Journey to Base Camp
We will take a short flight towards Nepalgunj – a southern town city in western Nepal. From Nepalgunj, we will take another scenic flight towards Juphal at lower Dolpo. Then we start our trek by following the trail that passes through cultural villages and densely forested area to arrive at Dunai. We continue to follow the trail for some days, passing through the villages of Tarakot, Musikhola, Kakotgaon, Phedi to reach Putha Hiunchuli Base Camp. After achieving the summit of Mount Hiunchuli then we will retrace our steps following the same trail back to Juphal and we fly from Juphal to Nepalgung and to KTM.
