An INCREDIBLE trek to Gokyo, Gokyo Ri, Ngozumpa Glacier, Cho La Pass, EBC, Kala Patthar

My son Chad (35), his fiancee Elektra (29) and I (71) embarked on an INCREDIBLE trek to Gokyo, the Gokyo Lakes, summitted Gokyo Ri, crossed the formidable Ngozumpa Glacier, summitted Cho La Pass, trekked to Everest Base Camp and summitted Kala Patthar. We were led by our excellent guide, Kami Dorjee Sherpa and two amazing porters, Maila Rai and Dhan Bahada Rai. Mr. Dawa Sherpa Lama, Company Director of Dream Himalaya Adventures, is a true professional. Not only is his logistical planning superb, he is also a summitter of Mount Everest ! During the planning stages, his advice was invaluable. He instilled tremendous confidence and trust and, from start to finish, his attention to detail was absolutely immaculate ! THANK YOU, DAWA. Our guide, Kami was absolutely amazing. He is a true leader on the mountain, and I certainly would not have been able to achieve the trek highlights without his constant assistance ! THANK YOU, KAMI. Kami was meticulous about our accommodation at the tea houses and lodges and ensured that we were always comfortable and enjoyed our meals. I celebrated my 71st birthday on Cho La Pass and Kami surprised us with delicious coffee, made on a burner, on the summit. He also surprised me with a birthday cake baked by the owner of the teahouse, together with sparkles, a birthday hat and a beautiful Khata. Thank you, again Kami for making my birthday so special ! Our highlights on the trek were the beautiful Goyko lakes, our summit challenges, EBC and lunch at Dream Himalaya Adventures expedition EBC camp (where two climbers were preparing to summit), the magnificent mountains, beautiful villages, the intimidating yaks and the wonderful people of the Khumbu Valley. This was our second trek with Dream Himalaya Adventures and Mr. Dawa Sherpa Lama. In 2018 Chad and I trekked with an expedition to EBC, camped at base camp for two nights and summitted Kala Patthar. We highly recommend Dream Himalaya Adventures and Mr. Dawa Sherpa Lama for your trekking and climbing requirements and dreams of a lifetime!

What an experience! If it’s the one thing you must do in your lifetime, this is it! And to have Dawaji support you is the best thing you can ask for. Anyone doing this circuit knows that things can change at the drop of a hat due to weather or other conditions, and that’s where his support was invaluable to us. Having liaised with Dawa, and upon warm recommendation from a friend, I went for the EBC trek in April 2026. Kami was my guide, and the trek was just amazing and something I will remember for long. Great organization, friendly atmosphere, stunning landscapes, the recipe was just perfect.
I am strongly recommending Dream Himalaya Adventures in case you want to test yourself in Himalaya, whether through a trekking or climbing experience. You will not regret it!

The Dream Himalaya 17-day base camp trek was fantastic. We, two teachers, took 11 high-school-going boys and 11 parents to Base Camp, spent two nights there and walked back. We were superbly looked after and supported from Kathmandu all the way to base camp, royally hosted there for two nights, and supported back to Lukla and then to Kathmandu again, which culminated in a wonderful final evening celebration for all. The Dream Himalaya team were professional throughout and dealt with issues that arose, like sorting out crampons for us, because it snowed and looked after those who needed plans adjusted, due to illness. Tricky flights back from Lukla, due to bad weather, were sorted out with little fuss.

I would book with Dream Himalaya Adventures again! It was truly a wonderful experience.

Dream Himalaya organized a wonderful 14-day trek to EBC for our Bishops school trip. We were well looked after by Dawa and his crew every step of the way. A highlight for us were the two nights spent in Base Camp. Thank you for facilitating such an amazing experience for us all.
